Bob Hunter Biography.


'ecology is going to be the greatest revolution in human history. It's going to change everything. It is not just to clean rivers and oil spills, but that will change the science, politics and philosophy'
Bob Hunter was born in octuber 13 of 1941, in St. Boniface, Manitoba and death in may 2 of 2005.
Was the fundator of Greenpeace in 1979.
Hunter had been appointed by the prestigious magazine 'Time' as one of the ten heroes of the twentieth century ecologists his many campaigns against nuclear weapons and hunting of whales and seals. It all began in 1971 when he joined an expedition of eleven activists left Vancouver on a boat to the island of Amchitka, opposite Alaska, to protest U.S. nuclear testing. The ship never reached Alaska, but the group of activists gained international attention enough to make the administration of Richard Nixon gave in and announced the purpose of testing. This trip led to the creation in 1973 of Greenpeace, an environmental organization that currently has two and a half million members in over 40 countries. Hunter was the first president of Greenpeace until 1977. He was the creator of the phrase "The Rainbow Warriors" (warriors of the rainbow), which describes the activities of the organization, and baptized the Greenpeace ship emblem with the same name. In 1979 he founded Greenpeace International. "It was a great thinker He told things like 'ecology is going to be the greatest revolution in human history. It's going to change everything. It is not just to clean rivers and oil spills, but that will change the science, politics and philosophy'. Hunter was recognized also for his journalistic work. He worked as a journalist with the environment in Canadian television commentator and was humorous news.
